The basic principle of Anodizing of aluminum profiles is through electrochemical reaction, but there are several types of anodizing.
There are three common methods: oxalic acid, sulfuric acid and chromic acid. These anodizing methods have their own characteristics. Today Ruiqifeng New Material will give you a brief introduction of the different types of anodizing used on aluminum profiles.
1. Sulfuric acid method, which should be the common method for anodic oxidation of aluminum profiles, the oxide film formed by this method is colorless and transparent, and has good color absorption performance, which is suitable for oxidation coloring. The electrolyte composition is simple and stable, easy to operate, and more importantly, the cost is relatively low.
2. Oxalic acid method: the thickness of oxide film produced in this way is relatively high, and it will bring some decorative colors. However, this method is costly and requires a large amount of electric energy.
3. Chromic acid anodizing film is thinner than sulfuric acid anodizing film, and is off white or gray, which is like the effect of surface spraying. But chromic acid oxidation is not suitable for coloring. Moreover, hexavalent chromium in chromic acid solution is very toxic, and the solution cost and processing cost are high, so this method is less used.
4. There is also a new oxidation method in Japan – sulfuric acid-oxalic acid oxidation method, which absorbs the advantages of the two methods and becomes the main oxidation method in Japan.
